History
Harold “Hal” Blakeslee was a lifelong scholar who believed that education should be stimulating, engaging, exciting and enjoyable for everyone. His initial children’s poetry projects were created for pleasurable reading by his grandchildren, but they were subsequently discovered by teachers, faculty and administrators who kept asking when more material would become available. Educators liked the quality content and the opportunity to expose young learners to rich vocabulary in a unique and enjoyable manner. Illustrators and curriculum developers were eventually engaged to create materials that enhance learning outcomes in all environments. Lone Leaf Publishing’s journey has progressively evolved to meet academic benchmarks for both students and educators.
